Well first of all I must apologize for not getting this write up done sooner…it has been a little crazy. Our weekend started off on Friday morning putting up our new “TENNESSE TARP” on the trailer. Bob now had the entire steel awning done but the new canvas was not ready yet so he substituted for one of those blue tarpaulins (20 X 44). The frame was easy…set-up time 1 hour…5 people. The “Tennessee Tarp”…set-up time 3 hours…ALL of our crew and HALF of the “Genther Racing” crew. Total “Tennessee Tarp” set-up time…about 4 hours and 10 or so people!! See picture below.

Saturday found Bob in the fuel boat and Ron in the Pro Mod. During Bob’s 2 nd pass on Saturday in the Fuel Boat….everything went great. He shut it down at half track as planned and to this day is kicking himself for not going all the way. Rumors from the crew were that when he got to the out ramp for pick-up, he had the biggest grin on his face that they ever saw!!:)

Ron on the other hand did not make out quite as well in the Pro Mod, he ran a 7.12 and smoked the clutch on his second pass.

Sunday, Bob was in the Pro Mod, ran a 7.03 and made it to the next round where he red lit. During the pass the boat hopped near the end of the run and Bob got out of it running a 7.54. On Ron’s first pass in the fuel boat on Sunday, he also red lit (.013foul) with a 5.691 ET/176.81 MPH.

Ron’s second pass in the fuel boat on Sunday found him red lighting again by a .227 and he went on to break the V-drive within the first 100 feet of the pass (he didn’t realize) and then kicked the blower belt at about half track and finished.

Not a bad weekend by any means…no major broken parts (boats or bodies) and the guys actually had some fun while doing it!! Slowly, we are working out these little gremlins and are on the right track to perfecting this new fuel boat. I said it at the beginning and will say it again…this boat is/will be the “wave of the future” once these guys get everything down pat, they and the B & R Boys are getting closer and closer each time that they have this thing out.

Once again a special thank you to our great team (The “B & R Boys”) for they’re constant Hard work and dedication to this program. Rick, Rexy, Steve T., Scotty, Steve P., you are the best!!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ken Ready and the SDBA for the invitation, hospitality and for putting on a great race!!

Our next race is in Augusta, GA on July 15-17, 2005
Check out the link and we will see “ya’ll” then!!
